Enhanced Mobility and Flexibility

The list of perks for this medical computer that can be powered over ethernet is long. On the top of that list are mobility, removing cable clutter, and flexibility. Ethernet cables are much longer than power cables, allowing you to place the computer virtually anywhere. Reduce the cable clutter with a PoE computer solution while eliminating the risk of tripping over wires for a safer environment.

Of course, you can have it VESA mounted or even embed it in the wall for applications such as check-in and quick patient notes.

Perfect Fit For Everyone

The durability and flexibility of these medical grade computers help them thrive in many scenarios and different tasks. Due to the size options available, there are many popular uses for the M Series.

One of the most conventional is in a hospital room as an infotainment device for the patient and a charting tool for the staff. It's also extremely common to see them hung on the walls outside of patients' rooms, giving the staff critical info before seeing the patients.

Brands That Trust Us

We had worked with Cybernet before on our North Tower project, which was a huge success. Based on that relationship, it was really easy to put our trust in Cybernet for our cart project and anesthesia project. We couldn't be happier with the early results.

Clean & Cool Computing Solution

Considering where these computers are deployed it's important for them to require almost no maintenance and to be easily disinfectable.

The CyberMed M Series is rated IP65 to prevent dust and liquid damage so it can be cleaned with harsh chemicals as frequently as needed.

They're constructed with antimicrobial properties mixed into the plastic to protect the computer casing from degradation or deterioration. Unlike antimicrobial sprays or coating, the antimicrobial properties won't wear off or get affected by dents or even deep scratches.

They're also built with fanless cooling technology so they can run cool whether they're being moved, mounted, or embedded.

What is a PoE Medical Computer?

PoE stands for Power over Ethernet, and it refers to a low power consuming computer that uses an ethernet cable to deliver both data and power. These computers tend to be lightweight and more reliable due to the fact that they get their power from a PSE (Power Sourcing Equipment), such as a switch or injector, instead of a separate power source. That means that even in the case of a power outage it will stay on if the network switch has a redundant (backup) power system like a generator. If there are no generators, some computers, like Cybernet's PoE line up, have an internal backup battery that allows it to stay on for up to five hours with no electricity.

How Does PoE Help Hospitals?

Medical PoE computers come in handy in hospitals especially when there are no outlets to connect computers to. One scenario involves the computers mounted on the wall outside patients' rooms. It's rare to find outlets outside, and having cables hanging on the wall doesn't elevate the hospital image. A good way to avoid electrical rewiring is running an ethernet cable to power the computer and transfer data at the same time.

They are also known to be much more efficient, sometimes drawing up to 50% less power compared to a normal All-In-One computer. On average a medical PoE computer consumes less than 50 watts while a standard AIO could consume up to 85 watts. With the number of computers in a hospital, that can add up to a lot of energy savings.

How Common is a PoE Medical Computer?

Huge hospitals, like University of Wisconsin Hospital, have turned to PoE medical computers for their convenience and ease of installation. These PCs work great for patient monitoring and as a way to provide quick data to the nurses responsible.
